ALGEBRA is a common core content. Common core content means it touches K-12 students.
The State expected 3rd grade students to have early exposure to algebra. Algebra is one of the most important skill every student must master. Why? Because it connect quantitative relationship of physical object. For example 1 quart jar holds 4 cups of lemonade. In algebra student are give the training to analyze a problem situation, determine the question(s) to be answered, organize given information, determine how to represent the problem. Like for this problem student can represent the given situation by using sketches or drawing.
