How can you check that your answer is correct? You do the substitution of value of x = 30 and y = 20 in both equation 1 and equation 2.

equation 1 : 30 + 20 = 50 ? ; answer is yes.

equation 2 : 0.25(30) + 0.10(20) = 9.50 ?; answer is yes.

Therefore x=30 and y = 20 are the correct answers.
